Church Chapel Riddim – Hevs Records

Church Chapel Riddim has that brisk, chanty dancehall pulse that leaves room for the hooks to cut through, with Hevs Records keeping the drum pattern tight and the bassline on a short leash. The 2019 set runs 11 tracks and folds in the instrumental right after Bareface’s “Fully Bear, ” which gives the project a neat, producer-first feel before the voices take over again. Erok’s “Love Pretty” and Eva Deva’s “Ghetto Youth” sit nicely against Junior Keys’ bright “Hotta Than Hot, ” while White Ice closes things out with “Gangsta Gyal. ” It came out on November 15, 2019.
