Cave In opens with a clean, roots-forward feel and then settles into the kind of 2004 reggae various-artists cut that let strong singers do the heavy lifting. Charm Music keeps the arrangement lean and steady, with a version tucked at the end to frame the vocal sides rather than steal the show. Don Campbell’s “Dat Girl Can Dance” leans lighter and sweeter, George Nooks brings that firm, devotional tone on “Got To Understand, ” and J. C. Lodge teaming with Pac Deep on “Round And Round” adds a little extra movement to the set.
