Coming out of the 2010 dancehall lane, Buss Buss Riddim carries that raw, streetwise energy you’d expect from a juggling built to move a dance. The cut list leans on veteran voice and contrast: Captain Barkey’s “Wine Gal” and Mad Cobra’s “Wickedest Ting Eva Born” keep the tempo sharp and commanding, while Lutan Fyah’s “I Will Never Break U Down” and Nittie Kutchie’s “Me No Fear Dem” pull a steadier, more conscious tone into the mix. There’s also a nice bit of variety in the pairings, from Villa Dutch and Feekez on “Who” to Wicker Man and Nittie Kutchie linking on “Do Good, ” which helps the riddim feel less like a one-note bashment exercise.
