A warm, rootsy one-drop pulse carries Bush Fire Riddim, but there’s enough grit in the low end to keep it from drifting too soft, and the vocal cuts lean into conscious themes rather than party chatter. Junior Kelly’s “Give Me Strength, ” Gentleman’s “Do The Right Thing, ” and Natural Black’s “Judgement” sit neatly beside Chico, Morgan Heritage, and Inner Circle, giving the set a mix of familiar names and sturdier message songs. The release also includes the instrumental “Version, ” which closes the sequence off in proper riddim style. Produced by Trevor Bonnick for All Access Records, Bush Fire first surfaced in 2004.
