Bubble And Skank Riddim – DE Red Boyz

In early 2021, when a lot of reggae riddims were leaning back into a cleaner, throwback feel, De Red Boyz cut Bubble And Skank with exactly that in mind: a bright, up-tempo cut that keeps the groove moving without crowding the singers. The project landed on February 9, 2021 as a nine-track set, and the title cut from Peter Ram opens it with the kind of easy bounce that sets the tone straight away. Anthony B, Marvay and Biggie Irie bring some of the strongest moments, while Trinity Clarke’s “Believe” with Phillip K and GP Horns’ “Brighter Days” add a bit of lift and range. The sequencing feels deliberate too, moving through solo voices, a collaboration, then the instrumental at the end so the riddim gets its own final spin.
