Dutty Rock Productions has long used Sean Paul’s name and infrastructure to bridge modern dancehall with rootsier reggae songwriting, and Brimstone Riddim Deluxe fits that part of the catalogue neatly. The full digital release arrived on August 9, 2024, following the earlier Brimstone drop from February, with the deluxe version adding fresh voices to a first run that already paired heavyweight names with newer singers.

The riddim sits at a brisk 144 BPM and carries a dark, marching pulse that still leaves room for melody. It has the kind of stern, forward-driving frame that suits both singjay cut and straight croon, with bass weight and clipped percussion giving the singers something serious to ride. Sean Paul and Beres Hammond’s “Tender Tender” is the most obvious headline cut, folding Sean Paul’s pop-dancehall ease into Beres’ softer, seasoned phrasing. Busy Signal’s “Jah You Know” keeps the energy high, while Capleton’s “Jah Guide My Step” pushes the conscious side of the rhythm.

The later additions sharpen the package. Beenie Man and Natural Black turn “Stronger” into a firm combination record, Naomi Cowan and Kabaka Pyramid bring warmth and balance to “See You Tonight, ” and Ras Ajai’s “No Drop U Guard” keeps the Sean Paul camp presence intact. Bushman’s “Show I the Way, ” Farenizzi’s “Frankly, ” J’calm’s “Sweet Love, ” Aiesha’s “Delight, ” Marcus I’s “War Zone, ” and Quan-Dajai’s title cut all help give the riddim range without breaking its rugged frame.
