Break Out Riddim keeps things tight: just two vocal cuts and the instrumental, which gives Dutty Life Records’ 2019 soca project a lean, road-ready feel. Muddy’s “Maniac” has the sharper edge of the pair, while Squeeze Head’s “Have To Mash Up” leans into the kind of party pressure that makes this sort of release click, and the producer’s own instrumental sits neatly in the middle as the spine of the whole thing. It’s a quick ride, running a little over nine minutes in all, but that brevity suits the tune-up energy here; by the time the riddim drops out, you’ve already got the hook of both voices and the bounce of the track in your head.
