Breadfruit Overview
The Breadfruit Riddim started in a small studio, where the team wanted to create a new sound for Carnival 2012. The arranger focused on making the music feel bright and full of energy. The goal was to get people moving and keep the party going strong. The arrangements used lively drums and catchy melodies to make each track stand out. The producer, VARIOUS ARTISTS, is well known in the soca and dancehall scene. Over the years, VARIOUS ARTISTS has worked with many different talents and helped bring new sounds to the genre. The label behind the riddim has a reputation for supporting creative projects that become favorites at Carnival and on the radio. Three main artists brought their own style to the Breadfruit Riddim. Heartless delivered “Jab She Want,” a track with a strong beat that quickly became a favorite on the Carnival road. Heartless is known in the soca community for energetic performances and has had other popular songs in the past. Shally Bally’s “Work Dem” added a playful twist to the riddim. Shally Bally is recognized for catchy hooks and has performed at major Carnival events, getting crowds to sing along. Smiley’s “Wet It” rounded out the project with smooth vocals and a danceable groove.
