BRAIN DAMAGE RIDDIM produced by HEADBANG RECORDS 2009
Brain Damage Overview
In 2009, the island’s Carnival season got a new sound with the release of the Brain Damage Riddim. The journey of this soca rhythm began in the small but lively studio of HEADBANG RECORDS, a label known for pushing energetic Caribbean music. HEADBANG RECORDS had already made a name for itself with a string of local hits and a reputation for blending modern production with traditional vibes. This time, they teamed up with the Carnival director to create a rhythm that would capture the true excitement of the festival. The production process was all about energy and color. The label worked closely with the Carnival director, who gave advice on how to bring out the feeling of the parade and the spirit of the crowd. They wanted a rhythm that would make people move from the first note to the last. The result was a vibrant soca beat that felt just right for Carnival. When it was time to add vocals, HEADBANG RECORDS called on some of the island’s most exciting voices. M To The H delivered “Gal Thing,” a track that quickly became a favorite for partygoers. Power Man brought fire with both “Inna Yuh Face” and “Inna You Face,” showing why he’s respected in the dancehall and soca scenes. Fatal’s “Bawl Out” added a raw edge, while Zabrick’s “Hood Inna The Fire” kept the energy high. Fire Motion’s “Wine And Bubble” rounded out the release with a true dance anthem.
