Box Office Riddim – Tmg Production

Deejay Brilliant’s “Fuck Fi Technology” is the sharpest cut on Box Office Riddim, and it sets the tone for the whole 2013 TMG Production drop with that hard, no-nonsense dancehall edge. With only two voicings on the riddim, Jevy Sparkz’s “You Me Love” has room to breathe, but it’s Brilliant who really pushes the project forward, cutting through the track’s stripped, punchy groove with the kind of directness that makes a small one-riddim release feel properly focused. TMG keeps the arrangement lean rather than overloaded, which gives the bassline and deejay phrasing plenty of space, and that feels in line with the producer’s catalogue approach around this time: straight-to-the-point dancehall built for the selector rather than the studio lounge. Box Office sits nicely as a concise entry in that early-2010s run, more about impact than volume.
