BOOPS RIDDIM produced by STUDIO ONE 1987
Boops Overview
In 2024, roots reggae instrumentals are making a strong return to popular playlists. The classic sound of deep basslines and steady drum patterns fits well with today’s love for music that feels both timeless and fresh. This new roots project stands out by bringing old-school reggae energy into the present, giving listeners a familiar yet updated vibe. Behind the release is the legendary producer STUDIO ONE. Known as the “Motown of Jamaica,” STUDIO ONE has shaped reggae since the 1960s, launching the careers of many stars. The label’s catalog is filled with classics, and its influence can still be heard in modern reggae and dancehall tracks streamed around the world. The project features two respected artists. Little John brings his signature style to the song "No Say So." Little John is known for his smooth delivery and was one of the youngest artists to record at STUDIO ONE, making his mark in the early dancehall era. Marcia Griffiths shines on "Feel Like Jumping." She is a reggae icon, famous for her solo career and as a member of the duo Bob and Marcia. Her song "Feel Like Jumping" is a true reggae classic that helped define her as the “Queen of Reggae.” With these artists and the roots instrumental, the project connects reggae’s rich history to today’s music scene.
