Bomboflow Riddim – Upsetta Records

By the time Upsetta Records rolled out Bomboflow, the Vermont-based crew had already started carving out a name for itself with crisp, modern reggae productions, and this 2011 set helped push that forward. The riddim has that clean, rolling one-drop feel with enough weight in the drums to keep it moving, and the song selection is strong without getting overcrowded. Collie Buddz’s “Too Watchy” is the obvious grabber here, a sharp, hooky cut that helped carry the project, while Kali Blaxx’s “Famer Man” digs into a more grounded, rootsy mood. Admiral Tibett brings veteran calm on “Give A Little, ” and Fyakin’s “Old Vibes” leans into the title’s nostalgic spirit. Upsetta later pointed to Bomboflow as one of its key early releases, and it’s easy to hear why this one travelled well in the 2011 reggae circuit.
