New Times Entertainment keeps Best Ride moving on a jaunty, mid-tempo dancehall swing, with a clean instrumental undercut by the kind of cheeky, flirt-heavy lyrics that made 2015 riddims easy to spin. Galaxy P’s “Wine Fi Me Slow” is the obvious talking point, but Delus’s “Sperm Donor” and Lynx ft. Sexinika’s “Wine Up Pon Me” help give the set its rowdy edge, while Brimstone and Ohginelle add a little more melodic contrast. The 11-track run also includes an instrumental cut, which helps place the project in that stripped-back, selector-friendly lane New Times was leaning into around this period. Compared with the label’s later dancehall work, Best Ride feels a bit lighter and more party-oriented, but it sits neatly in their catalogue as one of those compact juggling releases aimed squarely at dancefloor rotation.
