Bellyas Riddim – Vis Records

Bellyas Riddim is a 1999 VIS Records dancehall cut with a very short tracklist, led by Gowdie Ranks’ Rastaman A Chant. It comes from the Bellyas rhythm era that later turned up in other forms, and this one keeps the focus tight with just one listed song. VIS Records handled the production, and the tune sits in that late-90s dancehall pocket where tough, straightforward rhythms carried the vocal. Gowdie Ranks brings the only performance on the set, so Rastaman A Chant really defines the release.
