Beach House Overview

In 2014, the Beach House Riddim by JAMLINK RECORDS added a fresh sound to roots reggae. The riddim used a classic reggae foundation, but also blended elements from other genres. Listeners can hear touches of dancehall and smooth R&B in the mix. This made the riddim modern, while still keeping the deep bass and steady drums that are the heart of roots reggae. Gyptian, known for his international hit “Hold You,” brings his smooth voice to the track “It’S Been A While.” His style fits perfectly with the warm, rolling rhythm. Bascom X, who gained attention with songs like “Lonely Girl,” delivers “Bless And Protect,” showing his ability to mix conscious lyrics with a catchy melody. Mr Iiz adds energy with “Say Dem Ready,” giving the riddim a lively dancehall edge. Caracta’s “Special” and Indecka’s “Hold Me In Your Arms” both show the softer, romantic side of reggae. Tracy Mowatt, known for her work as a solo artist and as a member of the group T.O.K., brings a soulful touch with “I Want Your Touch.” Each artist brings their own style, but the riddim ties all the songs together.
