Bareback Riddim – Iwg Record

Bareback Riddim leans into a cheeky, taut dancehall groove, with Serani’s “Whine To The Beat” giving the set its sharpest pull and Deep Jahi’s “Fluffy Fat” and Tiyarro’s “Galang Bad” keeping the energy on the playful side. The 2014 package runs light and focused, just eight cuts including the instrumental, so there’s no fat on it; the clean-and-raw treatment on Serani and Tiyarro’s songs also tells you this was aimed squarely at the sound system and promo circuit. Coming from IWG Record, it feels like the kind of mid-2010s one-riddim release that sits neatly alongside their other straight-ahead dancehall work: compact, club-minded, and built to give each artist a quick run on a beat that doesn’t overcomplicate the job.
