BANN RIDDIM produced by 2009
Bann Overview
The Bann Riddim roots project brought together several strong tracks that highlighted new voices in reggae. The compilation featured Gyptian with “New Baan,” Zabrick’s “Stop The Violence,” Cris Oppolis on “Sive Out,” Black Queen’s “You Say,” Auden with “Miss You,” and Jahn Ti’s “Rise Up.” Each song added a unique message and feeling, all built on the same warm, roots reggae foundation. Gyptian, already well known for his international hit “Hold Yuh,” brought his smooth vocal style to “New Baan.” His presence on the project gave it extra attention, as he was already recognized for blending roots reggae with modern sounds. Zabrick’s “Stop The Violence” stood out for its call for peace, fitting well with the cultural focus of the riddim. Cris Oppolis delivered “Sive Out,” adding another layer of depth with his performance. Black Queen’s “You Say” brought a soulful touch, while Auden’s “Miss You” offered a more emotional side. Jahn Ti’s “Rise Up” closed out the set with an uplifting message. The riddim’s sound was crafted by a producer with a strong background in roots reggae. The beats and melodies stayed true to the classic reggae sound, helping keep the roots tradition alive in 2021. The Bann Riddim project gave young and rising singers a real platform to share cultural messages, making it a standout release for fans of authentic reggae music.
