Bamma Riddim – D1 Productions

Back in 2010, dancehall was deep in that digital era where lean, hard-edged riddims carried the weight, and Bamma Riddim sits right in that pocket with a compact five-track set from D1 Productions. Jim Kelly turns up twice, first alongside Dami on “Haffi Get Di Gal Dem” and later on the title cut “Bamma, ” while Dubzy’s “Good Good” and Glacier’s “New Heights” keep the energy moving with sharp, direct delivery over a brisk, no-frills rhythm. Pierrepressure’s “One More Try” adds a slightly different shade to the project, but the whole thing stays locked into the same straightforward dancehall pulse, the kind built for sound system play rather than extra polish. The release runs to five tracks in all, with five different artists across the set.
