BAILA RIDDIM (SOCA) – LASHELY MOTTO WINTER 2019
Baila Overview
In 2019, the parade flow brought the true spirit of the islands to Carnival. The energy of the road was powered by a special soca compilation that kept the crowd moving from start to finish. This collection featured top artists from the Caribbean, each with their own unique sound. Kes, known for their hit “Boss Lady,” added smooth vocals and catchy melodies. The band Kes has had a strong presence in soca music for years, and their song “Savannah Grass” was a major anthem at Trinidad Carnival in 2019. Motto, another standout, delivered the energetic track “Shots.” Motto is a St. Lucian artist who is recognized for his work in both soca and Dennery Segment styles. Skinny Fabulous, who contributed “Naked,” is known for his powerful performances and was a co-winner of the International Soca Monarch title in 2019 alongside Machel Montano and Bunji Garlin for the song “Famalay.” Team Foxx rounded out the compilation with “Baila Riddim,” bringing even more flavor to the mix. The music was shaped by the work of producer Team Foxx, who helped create a lively sound with steelpan and fast-paced rhythms. Each track brought something special, but together they made a perfect soundtrack for Carnival. This parade flow became a true anthem in 2019, filling the streets with joy and uniting people through the power of soca music.
