BAD DREAM RIDDIM produced by JAH LOVE PRODUCTIONS 2013
Bad Dream Overview
In 2013, a new dancehall sound system cut started its journey in the heart of Kingston’s music scene. JAH LOVE PRODUCTIONS, a label known for pushing fresh talent and energetic riddims, took the lead. They had already made a name for themselves with a few underground hits, but this project promised something different. The team wanted to blend hardcore dancehall energy with catchy hooks, aiming to create a tape that selectors would love to spin at any yard session. The mixing board king, known for his sharp ear and quick hands, played a key role. He brought together the raw vocals and the riddim, making sure every beat hit hard and every artist’s voice stood out. In late-night sessions, the studio became a meeting place for artists and producers, sharing ideas and testing out new flows. Potential Kidd, best known for his viral hit “Walking Dead,” brought his signature style to the tape. Eklypse came in strong with “Dem Like Mi Wase,” while Figga added his own flavor with “2 Gold Chainz.” Jah Lyfe’s “Business” and Natty Bredda’s “Sad Dream” gave the riddim even more depth. Each artist delivered their verses with energy, giving the tape a true collaborative feel. When the sound system cut finally dropped, it quickly became a favorite at street parties and dancehall sessions. Even today, the tape brings back the lively vibe of 2013, reminding fans of a time when dancehall was all about unity, rhythm, and raw talent.
