ATHLETIC RIDDIM produced by ISHABINGI RECORDS 2014
Athletic Overview
The Athletic Riddim project began in the studio with a clear vision. The team wanted to create a modern roots reggae sound that honored the genre’s traditions. The sound architect worked closely with each artist, making sure their unique voices stood out over the deep, warm instrumentals. ISHABINGI RECORDS produced the project. This label is known for its dedication to authentic reggae music. ISHABINGI RECORDS has released several respected reggae collections and is praised for its rich, organic sound. Their attention to detail helped Athletic Riddim feel special and not just another release. Several talented artists joined the project. Thrillout brought energy and emotion to the track “Get Bun.” Carl Morrison added a smooth, heartfelt touch with “Your Tha One.” Morrison is recognized in reggae circles for his soulful delivery and has worked with other well-known Jamaican musicians. Cutty Ranks, a veteran in the reggae and dancehall world, performed “Don’T Change.” He is famous for his 1991 hit “The Stopper” and has collaborated with many big names in reggae and hip hop. His deep voice and commanding style gave the riddim extra power. Ra Deal contributed “Give You Love,” while Raskali’s “Nuh Mek Sence” offered sharp lyrics and a catchy flow. Jah Tunda’s “Burning Red” and Dalla Sine’s “Poor People Feel It” rounded out the project with strong messages and confident vocals. Looking back, Athletic Riddim captured the spirit of roots reggae in 2014. Fans still remember it as a favorite for its honest sound and powerful performances.
