Asti Riddim

AHTIK Studio’s Asti Riddim has that early-2010s US-soca edge: punchy, road-ready, and clearly cut with Carnival season in mind rather than some polished studio sheen. The strongest pull here is the way the production frames Ace and Lyrikal’s “Jouvert Morning” alongside the rest of the lineup, letting the voices do the shouting over a propulsive backing that feels made for big truck sound and sweaty morning sessions. Ronnie Homer’s “This Gyal” and D’Natural’s “Whine Gyal” keep the energy up, while Sir Skarz and Snypah and Yankey Boy add a rougher party-room bite. It’s a seven-track set, and the close-knit feel gives the riddim a nice street-corner momentum, with AHTIK Studio’s New York base adding its own city stamp. Small but telling detail: this one was aimed squarely at the 2012 Carnival run.
