Afro Riddim – Chillspot Records

Afro Riddim, released in 2016, is a Chillspot Records dancehall set that sits firmly in the Zimdancehall lane and brings together a strong Zimbabwean vocal lineup. The riddim runs 12 tracks deep with 15 artists across the set, including Freeman on Nditori Nezvangu Zvandinofunga, Nutty O on Pullow Up, Poptain featuring Levels on Masurvior, and Silent Killer on the raw-cut D*ck, while Soul Jah Love closes things out with Yanguva Yekufara. What gives the project its character is the balance of singers and deejays over a distinctly local dancehall backdrop, with tracks like Hatina Kumira Bho, Zimbabwe, and Waka Waka helping define the mood.
