6 City Riddim – 9 Mill Muzic

Nine cuts, six artists, and a pretty sharp little dancehall spread from 9 Mill Muzic: the 6 City Riddim lands with Daddy1’s “Skate Off” and Chronic Law’s “Life A Keep” as the obvious pulls, while ShaqStar’s “Shot A Fire” and OG 1Vain’s self-titled “9Mill” keep the energy moving through the set. The whole thing sits in that punchy 2021 dancehall pocket, around a 100 BPM groove, which gives the vocals room to cut without the rhythm ever feeling heavy-handed. Daddy1 comes in with a cheeky, street-ready chant, and Chronic Law sounds especially locked in, riding the riddim with that cool, unhurried menace he does so well. It dropped in May 2021, right in the middle of a run where young producers were using compact one-riddim projects to introduce fresh voices fast.
