By 2006, dancehall was deep in its mid-2000s singles-and-riddims run, and Mastamind Productions’ Estrogen Riddim sat right in that pocket with a female-forward four-track lineup that kept the focus tight. Nadia Batson’s “Pon Meh Backside” is the name that jumps out first, especially with her already-minted reputation as a sharp Trinidad songwriter, while Alysha’s “Wuk Yuh Man” and Precious’ “Waste Ah Time” lean into the cheeky, flirtatious side of the set.
