Green Cross Camp 2 – Blue Bee Records

Green Cross Camp 2 leans on that warm mid-2000s roots energy, with Johnny Clarke front and centre on “Tell Me When Ready” and again in the dubwise twist of “Tell Me When You Dubby. ” Blue Bee Records keeps the set tight with just four cuts, so the little details matter: Samantha and Akira bring a lighter lift to “Rainbow, ” while Milton Blake’s “All Laong” rounds things out with a more straightforward chant-down feel. There’s a nice family resemblance between Clarke’s voice and the production’s steady, forward-moving pulse, which gives the whole thing a lived-in, local character. Short and unflashy, but it has that one-riddim charm, right down to the dub cut.
