Zero Stress Riddim – Rebelmadiaq Sound

By the time Rebelmadiaq Sound got to Zero Stress Riddim, they were already deep into the kind of wax-friendly reggae production that keeps one foot in classic dancehall and the other in a tougher modern studio feel. This one leans on drums, bass and analog keys rather than slick polish, so tracks like Luciano’s Questions More Than Answers and Sr Wilson and Yeyo Perez’s No Stress sit right in that warm, militant pocket without sounding dusty. Joseph Cotton’s Original Copy and Shuga’s Mr Poverty keep the message side sharp, while the title version at the end lets the riddim breathe on its own. Released in May 2016, it came out as a compact six-cut set, the sort of release Rebelmadiaq could press up on vinyl and move with a proper sound system mindset.
