Warn The Nation Riddim – Yabby You, J.R., Insight

Rooted in Vivian Jackson’s production work for Yabby You, J. R. and Insight, Warn The Nation dates to 1974 and leans into that early roots-to-dub connection that defined his best sides. The set brings together The Prophets’ original Warn The Nation, King Tubby and Yabby U’s Honey Dub, and later versions from Junior Reid and Natty King, which gives the riddim a long-run lineage across generations. Junior Reid’s Jah Love is the notable later cut here, while the King Tubby dub version points back to the heavier studio approach that made Yabby You material so distinctive. It’s a compact example of how one rhythm could move from militant roots song to dubwise reinterpretation and then return in a new dancehall era.
