Back in 2009, when reggae riddims were still carrying that clean digital edge but leaning hard on melody, BYM Entertainment’s Waga Waga kept things tight with just three cuts and no wasted space. The rhythm has a lean, mid-tempo pull that leaves room for the vocals to breathe, and Demarco’s “Pull It Selecta” brings the most forward motion with its sharp dancehall attitude. Bijean’s “Keep It Real” sits in a more roots-conscious pocket, while Sizzla closes it out with “So Lovely, ” a smoother, more melodic turn that softens the whole set without killing the bounce. It’s a small release, but that final Sizzla track gives the riddim its sweetest lift.
