Stronga Riddim – Jam’strong Records

Jam’strong Records kept Stronga Riddim lean and focused in 2009, and that sparseness gives the set its bite: just four tunes, with Sizzla’s blunt “Dont Give A Fuck” and Lutan Fyah’s “Real Rasta” doing most of the heavy lifting over a militant, roots-forward groove. Sena’s “Outcry In The City” and Lorenzo’s “Life To Live Love To Give” keep the message conscious, but it’s the way Sizzla and Lutan Fyah lock into the rhythm that gives the project its edge. The whole thing runs just about 15 minutes, so there’s no wasted room, only a quick, pressure-filled run through a small but sharp 2009 reggae cast.
