Stories Riddim – New League Music

In 2019, when roots-leaning reggae riddims were still leaning on clean melody and singer-friendly hooks, New League Music came through with Stories Riddim, a tight six-track set that keeps the mood warm and reflective rather than overworked. Busy Signal’s “Eye Pon Mi” and Christopher Martin’s “Outta This World” set the tone with smooth, easy confidence, while D Major’s “Never Change” and Gyptian’s “Run Away” push the project a little deeper into introspective territory. Javada’s “Life Lessons” fits the concept neatly, keeping the writing grounded and personal. The whole thing runs just about 20 minutes, so there’s no dead weight, and closing with the instrumental leaves the riddim itself hanging in the air as the final statement.
