Step & Drop Riddim – Mad Squad Sounds

Step and Drop Riddim arrived in September 2026 as a six-voice dancehall set from Mad Squad Sounds, with Selekta Spanish Don Dialo and Chodgad behind the production. Red Bunk Records joins the package, which centres on a small cast of artists taking distinct title-led approaches to the same backing rather than stretching the idea across an oversized selection.

Leximan opens the edition with “Watta Ah Gangster, ” a title that places his contribution in the riddim’s tougher corner. Mad Verbal’s “Talk Tuff (Zim King)” follows with an equally direct statement, giving the sequence two cuts that address badness and verbal authority from neighbouring angles. Their placement makes the shared-riddim format especially clear: the framework stays constant while each deejay arrives with a different claim to make within it.

Elsewhere, Willie Bounce (Zim) shifts the language with “More Than Love, ” while Molly Wood’s “Anyweh Mi Deh Pon” carries a more self-defining title. Mr Bill’s “Life On The Cross” and Deissy D’s “Make It Fall” complete the six-cut run, keeping Step and Drop rooted in the practical dancehall tradition of one production, several personalities, and no wasted detours.
