Staggerah Riddim (2009) – Monstapiece Productions

Konshens’ “Whine It Anywhere (Clean)” is the obvious pull on Staggerah Riddim, but Monstapiece Productions gives the whole set a breezy, carnival-ready snap that keeps the focus on motion and hooks rather than heavy arrangement. Fox’s title cut opens things up with a bright, cheeky bounce, and Verseewild’s “Good Loving” rounds the trio out with a softer, more flirtatious edge. It’s a short 2009 soca drop, just three tracks deep, and that lean setup lets Konshens sit neatly against the cleaner island groove Monstapiece was chasing here, with the clean version adding a little extra radio-friendly polish. A tidy little time capsule, really.
