Society Riddim – Uzinadub Studio

In 2011, when reggae was still leaning hard on digital roots and clean, speaker-rattling one-riddim sets, Uzinadub Studio lined up a compact Society Riddim package with a strong French-Caribbean tilt. Cless Shine opens on “Wipe Your Tears, ” while Little Dan’s “Mes Blessures” and Tiwony’s “Jah Pa Ka Domi” keep the mood reflective but forward-moving, and the production leaves room for the vocals to breathe over a steady, understated groove. Mathieu Ruben and Little Di Lion team up on “Look All Around, ” which gives the set one of its most rooted moments, with Ronegga’s “Je Pense À Toi” adding another French-language cut to the sequence. The tracklist runs five songs deep, all issued under Uzinadub Studio in 2011.
