Out of Jamaica’s current dancehall churn, Silk Boss keeps leaning into the sharp, self-mythologizing side of the sound, and “Rich and Boasty” lands right in that pocket with a brash title and a trimmed, no-nonsense setup. The track comes from Droptop Records, Abroad Records and TopIce International Records, a trio that has been quietly threading together some of the cleaner modern street productions, and Silk Boss rides that lane with the kind of clipped delivery that makes the boasting feel more pointed than playful. There’s a similar swagger in the way the song is being framed, too: all attitude, money talk and status flex, with no wasted motion. Even in this short single format, it feels like a quick snapshot of where dancehall’s young stars are taking the bragging right now, and the title alone says plenty.
