Richie Loop – Cinderella Life

“Cinderella Life” is a compact phrase with the instant lift of a dancehall refrain: a fairy-tale image that suggests transformation, glamour and getting beyond the hard part. It suits Richie Loop, an artist whose defining early hit “My Cupp” turned a simple central idea into a durable calling card.

The Clarendon native came up as both vocalist and producer, voicing his own material while working around riddims such as Brainstorm and Sweat Shop before “My Cupp” opened wider doors. His subsequent path has been unusually broad for a Jamaican dancehall artist: collaborations with Busy Signal, D-Major and Shaggy sit alongside years spent working through EDM, shatta, club music, Afrobeat and reggaeton. That range matters because Loop has never treated the deejay’s role as a fixed position. He can toast with force, then switch into a more melodic line without abandoning the edge in his voice.
