Kaation and Squash link up on a tune that comes straight out of
the modern Jamaican street-school: hard, tense, and built for the
clash side of dancehall. Crazy Fi True rides a blunt, punchy rhythm
with a dark edge, the kind of production that leaves room for
toasting, flexing and warning shots rather than sweetness. The
title says plenty on its own, and the record carries that same
restless energy — a song about pressure, attitude, and the raw
confidence that keeps dancehall moving in the current moment.
Kaation is still one of the newer names
pushing from the diaspora lane back into the Jamaican conversation.
The Bull Bay artist, born Tariq Antoye, moved to the United States
as a teen and started taking music seriously there after years of
treating it as something he did for fun. He has described his sound
as hardcore dancehall, more in the lane of hard-edged street music
than the softer crossover style. That background matters here,
because Crazy Fi True sounds like a record made by someone who
wants his name counted among the tougher voices in the genre.
Squash brings the veteran weight. The Salt
Spring deejay, better known as 6ix Boss, has turned 6ixReal Records
into one of the more recognizable labels in the current dancehall
wave, with a catalogue full of gritty, street-centered singles. His
presence gives the track immediate credibility in that world, while
Kaation adds hunger and a younger voice. Put together, the pairing
feels natural: two artists with a shared taste for sharp,
unvarnished dancehall, cutting across a 2026 release that sits
comfortably in the 6ixReal orbit and speaks directly to fans who
want their music heavy, direct and current.
