Govana – Itsy Bitsy

Slinky and a little mischievous, Govana’s “Itsy Bitsy” comes in on Di Genius Records with the kind of sharp-tongued dancehall swagger he’s made his calling card. It’s a single, so there’s no long tracklist to sort through here, just the point being made clean and direct: Govy riding a slick, modern riddim with the melody tucked tight and the phrasing doing most of the work. Di Genius has a habit of giving these cuts enough polish to let the personality cut through, and this one leans into that neatly, with Govana sounding especially at ease in the pocket. The title alone hints at the playful edge, but it’s the way he turns that into teasing, compact lines that carries the record; by the time he’s locked into the hook, the whole thing feels built around his delivery first and everything else second.
