Chezidek – Bad Out Deh

Chezidek’s “Bad Out Deh” returns on September 4, 2026 as a 3: 46 single credited to Irie Ites Records and Evidence Music. This is a refreshed presentation of a tune first issued in 2007 on Irie Ites’ Down In Jamaica riddim, rather than a newly recorded Chezidek release.

The song’s subject remains blunt: Chezidek addresses violence in Jamaica without softening the urgency of the message. Its renewed release gives that concern a different weight, but the vocal belongs to the original session’s roots-minded framework. The current edition is remixed and remastered, restoring a cut that also appeared in edited form on Chezidek and Irie Ites’ 2023 album Never Stop.

Manuel Malhoeuvre is credited with producing and arranging this version, with Mafia and Fluxy and Dean Fraser credited for the riddim. The rhythm itself was created in 2007 as an Irie Ites tribute connected to Culture’s “Down In Jamaica, ” placing “Bad Out Deh” in a lineage of Jamaican roots material rather than treating it as a nostalgia exercise. Chezidek’s voice is the centre of the record: direct, grave and purposeful, carrying a social warning over a production designed to leave space around the vocal.

This September single opens a wider return for the Down In Jamaica project, but “Bad Out Deh” holds its own as a focused statement from the original set.
