Buju Banton – Too Too Bad Album

Buju Banton returns on Too Too Bad with the kind of hard-edged dancehall that made his name in the first place, only this time the swagger comes with a sharper, more veteran sense of control. The album title nods back to his 2006 Too Bad era, and the new set lands as a Gargamel Music and VP Records release dated July 17, 2026. Buju, born Mark Myrie in Kingston, has spent decades as one of Jamaica’s defining voices, moving from ragga fire to roots consciousness and back again without ever losing that unmistakable growl.

The opening run sets the tone fast: We Nuh Play, FAFO and Eye 2 Eye hit with rugged, bass-heavy energy, while X Rated and Good Pum Pum keep the subject matter raw and streetwise. There’s plenty of sound-system muscle here, but Buju also knows when to pull the pace down. Butterflies and Be Good bring the mood into softer, more romantic territory, with the melody doing just as much work as the patois. House Call and Wild Woman push the album deeper into flirtation and female-centered banter, while the guest spots add shape rather than clutter.

DJ Khaled turns up on Wild Woman, Ari Lennox smooths out Satisfy Me with a soul-leaning contrast, and Gramps Morgan closes things with Power, a fitting link between two artists who know how to carry roots feeling into a modern frame.
