Five voices ride Priest Muzik’s Showdown Riddim, a compact 2021 dancehall set that keeps the focus on clash-minded energy rather than guest count. Keplah’s “Stronger, ” Ipyure’s “Bere Gyal, ” Hallow Point’s “No Safe-Heaven, ” Maddawg’s “All Set, ” and GMac’s “Who You” each take a turn over the same taut backdrop, and the EP runs to just five tracks in about fifteen minutes. Priest Muzik, who had already been lining up singles through 2020 and 2021, keeps the arrangement stripped and direct here: crisp snares, a heavy low end, and a marching bounce that leaves plenty of room for the vocals to cut through.
