Shanapol Riddim – Evorecordz

Evorecordz keeps Shanapol pretty lean and street-level here: six cuts, eight voices, and no wasted space, with the whole thing leaning into a rough-edged dancehall swing rather than anything glossy. Weedlice’s “Gladiator” sets a combative tone, while Milorw, Boondy Mad and Riego’s “Jalouzi A Zot” feels like the cut with the most immediate pull, built for fast chatter over a taut rhythm bed. Kazac’s “Je L’ai Gelee” and Great-Nivek’s “Orangina” keep the energy moving without softening the riddim’s bite, and the French-Caribbean phrasing across the tracklist gives it a distinct regional stamp. Dropped in 2021, Shanapol sat nicely in that wave of compact digital dancehall sets that didn’t chase length so much as impact.
