Scotch Riddim Vol. 2 – BlakYaad Productions

Scotch Riddim Vol. 2 sits in BlakYaad Productions’ reggae lane with Treydrumz at the center, and the project is firmly a 2025 release rather than 2026. The first Scotch set arrived in late September 2025 as a nine-song album, and this second volume extends that same production world with a juggling format that gives each voice a clean run over the one drop. Treydrumz has been building out a reggae catalog of his own, and BlakYaad has been the home for that run.

The voices on the riddim are Greg Gutty, EmE, M3chi, Jah Vezl, Whatatamtam, and Volente Kank. That lineup gives the project a nice mix of roots-conscious singers and younger melodic artists. EmE comes through as a Jamaican reggae soul vocalist with a message-heavy approach, while Greg Gutty has long blended reggae, hip-hop, rhythm and soul in his work. Jah Vezl has a conscious, melodic touch, and Whatatamtam brings a reggae-dancehall edge with enough flexibility to move across styles. M3chi and Volente Kank help widen the palette, keeping the juggling fresh rather than repetitive.

What makes the set work is the tone of the rhythm itself: warm, steady, and song-friendly, with enough space for hooks and phrasing to breathe. “Carry On, ” “Jah Jah Love, ” and “Grandma Prayer” point straight at the spiritual and uplift side of the project, while “Liar” gives the riddim a sharper conversational twist. This is the kind of reggae release that is less about a single anthem than about hearing how different singers shape the same backbone in their own way.
