Ruff Times Riddim – I-Sight Records

I-Sight Records’ Ruff Times Riddim has that stripped-back, meditative reggae feel that leaves room for the singers to carry the weight, and the timing of it in August 2021 fit the mood of a world still feeling the strain. Bobby Tenna’s title cut keeps the message plain and direct, while Lutan Fyah’s “No Gold Spoon” brings his usual hard-earned authority to the topic. Ras Zacharri’s “Omnipotent” adds a steadier, more prayerful pull, and the Jahricio and Aborijah pairing on “One Life To Live” gives the set a nice conversational lift.
