Rock Me Riddim – Calibud

Calibud’s Rock Me Riddim sits right in that fertile 2002 stretch when roots-flavoured one-riddim sets still had room for big voices and sharp hooks, and this one gets extra shape from the Cali Bud connection with Sheldon Stewart listed as producer on the wider release. Anthony B comes out swinging on “Do Not Buss Your Gun Tonight, ” while the Louie Culture and Leroy Sibbles pairing on “Rock Me” gives the riddim a warm, seasoned pull that feels built for sound system replay. Elsewhere, Chrisinti’s “Forgive And Care” and Warrior King’s “Empress Divine” keep the set moving in a conscious lane without losing its easy groove. There’s a nice mix here of familiar names and lighter-touch cuts, and the instrumental “Rock Me” version ties it all together in a way that feels very of its era.
