Slingerz Records, the Florida-based dancehall imprint led by Kevin “Slingerz” Balgobin, has been pushing harder into Jamaican releases in recent years, and Rifle Behaviour Riddim lands squarely in that run of work. The label has already built a reputation around contemporary dancehall cuts with a commercial edge, and this juggling follows that path with a rawer street angle.

The riddim’s sound is tense and percussive, with a militant pulse that matches the gun-talk in the titles. The production leaves space for the artists to bark, chant, and ride the beat with urgency rather than melody. Najeeriii’s 1Rifle is the obvious anchor, especially with the remix giving the tune extra life, while Chronic Law’s Fada Dark and Jahvillani’s M16 bring that cold, unblinking voice both men use so well. Kraff Gad’s IKATION adds another grim, abrasive cut, and Malie Donn’s Outside and 10Tik’s Squeeze Benz keep the energy locked in the streetwise lane.

What makes the set click is the way it gathers some of the most active young names in dancehall around one sharply themed rhythm. Pablo YG’s One Ten, IWaata’s Buduff Baff, Jamarii’s No Escape, Mafi’s Talking Tom, and Eddy G Bomba’s Impolite all add different shades to the same hard-edged framework.
