Reverence Riddim (2003) – Reggae Fever Production

Reggae Fever’s Reverence Riddim sits in that early-2000s run of rootsy, conscious juggling where the label kept leaning on strong voices and devotional themes instead of flash. Released in 2004, the project pulls in Anthony B, Luciano, Natural Black, and Norris Man, with Anthony B’s title cut and Luciano’s “Praise Yahweh” doing a lot of the heavy lifting in the lineup. The version was credited to The Amlak 7 Crew with Sylvain Perret behind the production, which helps explain the clean, militant pulse underneath the songs. There’s also a nice bit of range here: Phat Promo’s “Riddim Riddim” sits beside the more serious roots chants, so the sequence moves from preaching and warning into a lighter self-referential turn before closing out with Ras Wakad’s “Yoka. ”
