The Playaz Riddim comes off lean and sharp, all brisk Dancehall snap and a playful edge that suits its tiny two-track lineup. Bad Head and Jubba G open with “Love Someone, ” then Jubba G returns with Elly Daps on “Gyallis, ” and that small detail tells you plenty about the energy here: this is the kind of rhythm set that leans on chemistry more than crowd size. The production credit is simply Various Artists, which adds to the loose, almost underground feel of the thing, like a quick session cut and sent out without any extra dressing. There are only three unique artists across the whole release, and that makes the contrast between the two cuts even more direct.
