PASSION RIDDIM 2009
Passion Overview
Carnival 2019 was a year filled with energy, color, and unforgettable music. The parade route was alive with the sound of the Passion Riddim, a classic soca rhythm that brought the crowd together. This riddim, first released in 2009, found new life during the festival, showing how timeless soca can be. The arrangement of the Passion Riddim came from the hands of an island arranger who understood the pulse of the people. Their work made sure the music was both warm and exciting, perfect for dancing in the street. The production captured the true feeling of Carnival, making every song shine. Multi Symptom’s “Little Bit In Love” was a favorite for many. The song’s catchy hook and smooth delivery made it stand out as a crowd-pleaser. Kerry John teamed up with Makamillion for “Leave And Gone,” bringing strong vocals and a memorable chorus. Makamillion’s own version, “Leave And Gone,” showed his flexibility as an artist. He is known for his work in Trinidad’s soca scene, and this song added another highlight to his career. Mr Spine added his own flavor with “You,” a track that kept the energy high. Orlando Octave, who had earlier success with “Single” in 2012, contributed “Make Love.” His smooth voice and confident style brought a different vibe to the riddim. Looking back, the Passion Riddim parade flow was truly a Carnival anthem in 2019. It brought together artists and fans, reminding everyone why soca music is so important to the festival spirit.
