Passion Love Riddim has that easy lovers-rock pulse you want from a 2011 cut like this, with just four voices doing the talking and The Melodians’ title track carrying the deepest nostalgia in the bunch. Jah Ruby’s “Mi Know Bout Sufferin” leans more plaintive, while Kashief Lindo and Nikesha Lindo keep it tender and melodic, the two Lindo cuts sitting neatly against the veteran harmonies and giving the riddim its soft-spoken shape. It’s a small set, but that’s part of the charm, especially with “Passion Love” closing the loop like a memory you half-expected to hear again.
